Driver assistance
Driver assistance is limited to pick-up and drop-off operations, which includes covering the distance between the vehicle and the pick-up and drop-off points.
Drivers can help users:
- Get from the vehicle to the main entrance and vice-versa;
- Cross ground floor thresholds at the pick-up location or drop-off point;
- Get into or out of the vehicle;
- Buckle their seatbelt;
- Place their mobility aid in the vehicle’s trunk;
- Move their electric wheelchair, three-wheel scooter or four-wheel scooter to the pick-up or drop-off point, if the passenger needs assistance.
Drivers can't:
- Install a car seat in the vehicle;
- Help move users from their wheelchair to the vehicle seat;
- Get users ready to travel (tying their laces, helping them get dressed in winter, etc.);
- Help users cross more than three steps (users must be able to cross by themselves or with the help of someone other than the driver);
- Carry users in their arms or carry a wheelchair down stairs;
- Handle users’ oxygen cylinder;
- Take an elevator or stairs to pick up users or get them to another floor.
