PROPERTY ASSESSMENT
Assessment role
The property evaluation role summarizes the inventory of properties in a municipality’s territory, evaluated on the same basis and at the same date. In effect for three consecutive municipal fiscal years, it serves mainly to indicate the actual value of these properties for municipal and school tax purposes.
Information gathered during the visit to your property concerning the land and buildings is part of your evaluation file. The addition or removal of all building materials or components with or without a permit can result in a modification to the evaluation role on your property (example: garage, pool, renovation of the basement, gallery or a demolition), which could have an effect on your tax bill. Also, every nine years, a complete inventory of the municipality is carried out.
