Fire safety

Guidelines and cover plan

The most recent ministerial guidelines on fire safety were released in the early 2000s, resulting in province-wide reforms. Following their release, MRC Brome-Missisquoi was one of the first regions to develop and adopt a fire safety cover plan in 2006. A revised fire safety cover plan was later developed and adopted in 2016.

There are 11 fire safety services in the region. They work together to better serve the local community and reduce losses by prioritizing preventive measures and approaches.

Please take a look at our public awareness program to learn what we’re doing to prevent fires. Head to the Useful links and documents section to check it out.
