Sûreté du Québec and its mandate in the region
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is responsible for protecting the MRC Brome-Missisquoi community.
Its mission is to:
- Maintain peace and public order
- Prevent and fight crime
The Sûreté du Québec also:
- Provides a full range of services to the municipality it serves
- Supports the police community
- Coordinates major police operations
- Contributes to the integrity of governmental institutions
- Ensures the safety of Quebec’s transport networks
The SQ has the authority to enforce the law in Quebec and local bylaws in the municipalities it serves.
