WATER MANAGEMENT    Policies and Regulations

Policies

MRCs are obliged to carry out work required to reestablish the normal flow of waterways under their jurisdiction when they are informed of the presence of an obstruction threatening the safety of people and goods.

To report the presence of an obstruction or a nuisance in a waterway, immediately contact your municipal inspector.

Regulations

SHORELINE AREAS

Shoreline areas are permanent vegetation zones along the shores of waterways and lakes. Regulations regarding working in shoreline areas are the responsibility of the local municipality.

The Brome-Missisquoi MRC has created a shoreline nursery to encourage the creation of shoreline areas in its territory.
