Program objective
The purpose of the RénoRégion Program (RRP) is to provide financial assistance to low- and moderate-income owner-occupants for work to correct major defects in their home.
MRC Brome-Missisquoi has a budget of $86,700 to allocate for the 2025-2026 RénoRégion Program. Once these funds are allocated to eligible owners, no new requests may be processed until a new budget is announced.
The fiscal year for this program runs from April 1st to March 31st.
Financial assistance specifics
Financial assistance may cover up to 95% of the approved cost of the eligible work, up to a maximum of $20,000 or $25,000, depending on income. This grant is only paid once the work has been completed.
Important: Any work completed before a certificate of eligibility is issued is not eligible for the program.
Consult the following eligibility criteria to see if you qualify:
- The value of the building (standardized value*) must not exceed $150,000, excluding land, according to your 2024 municipal tax bill.
- You are the owner and occupant of a single family home or duplex.
- Your home requires at least $3,500 of work to correct one or more major defects (exterior walls, openings, projections, roof, structure, electricity, plumbing, heating, thermal insulation, etc.).
- You have not received assistance from the RénoRégion program in the past five years.
- You have not received assistance from the Rénovation Québec program (Farnham only) in the past 5 years.
- Priority will be given to applications from people who have never benefited from the program.
- Your family income is low (see chart below).
- Any other eligibility criteria established by the Société d'habitation du Québec (SHQ).
*The standardized value is the result of the roll value multiplied by the standardization factor. This factor is determined by the Ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions du Québec to make all municipal assessments comparable.
